On 01.01.08 legislation concerning electronic mail was introduced in Germany (EHUG). All business emails must now contain the company name including the legal form, the town or city of registration, the trade register responsible and the trade register number. For certain types of company, additional information must be included. Anyone ignoring these new regulation faces penalties. Private persons and freelancers are not affected.
