laser printer
Laser printers can print very quickly - up to 200 pages a minute. The printing quality is excellent and use is economical.
The printer contains a large, revolving photosensitive drum, the surface of which is negatively charged. The document is "written" onto the surface of the revolving drum by a laser i.e. the area touched by the light becomes positively charged. These areas attract the negatively charged toner which is then, in turn, rolled onto the paper. The paper is heated to 180 degrees for a very short moment to fix the toner. This is why the resulting pages leave the printer hot. Special laser print paper should be used.
