signature
In a ruling of November 15 2006, the Bundesgerichtshof (Federal Court of Justice) stated:
If a statement is signed with a signature containing only one legible letter, or with letters that clearly and intentionally represent an abbreviation of the name, then it does not constitute a signature in the legal sense (Az. IV ZR 122/05) i.e. in doubt the signature must be legible.
